Teaching a machine to hear a mistake
Our article on how the recitation AI was built and tested.
An AI that listens to a recitation and follows it word by word, marking mistakes as they happen. We can bring it into your Quran app or teaching platform, or build the app around it.
Our Quran recitation AI listens as someone recites and follows along word by word. It marks skipped words, wrong letters (including a missed shadda) and wrong short vowels as they happen. It runs on a speech model we fine-tuned ourselves, built on CTC: there is no text decoder, so it does not auto-correct a mistake into the right word.
On held-out tests it keeps 99.89% of words read correctly by professional reciters green, and catches 99.5% of skipped words and 98.9% of wrong vowels planted in test recordings. Checking one verse takes under a tenth of a second. A small model on the phone follows the page and catches skipped words even offline. Tajweed is not checked yet: that is the next step, added rule by rule once each rule is validated.

That is what the API is for: it is built for Quran apps and teaching platforms, and early access is coming soon. Request early access and tell us about your app.
